I am working like a maniac. by Omar-Dogan, journal
I am working like a maniac.
I have been virtually no where on the interwebs as of late. Neither here nor there, and it is becoming a trend.
But, it's not without good reason! I am using the next month to get as many pages done as possible of 5th Capsule. Thats right, a total reboot from what ever you saw in Vent. Some of the older characters might find their way in, but you'll just have to wait,
As it is right now I'm on page 28, and I am hoping to get 75 - 90 pages of story done first. I'm considering putting it alltogether in one book with about 15 - 20 full colour images in the back as well as maps and all sorts of geeky stuff.
You have no idea how much i have bee

A forest full of trees and I’m the only one that fell.
Dawn came and the day prevailed, and after a while, it retired, shouldering the burden of moonrise and twilight, yet I was still but a figure lying in the dust. Exposed and bare to the tellurian ballet.
I became a home to parasites. Organisms grew proud inside of me, bestirred on top of me, and under me, but I was unable to stand tall as I once was.
My sentience was still intact. And my days were slow and empty; I became a ghost of change. My life wasn’t over, yet I was forced to suffer it. Not for me, but for the hangers-on. They strived but f

A little story of how I started in Photography
I've been drawing since I can hold a pen. Trying to create emotions, expressions, and energy through images.
But I always thought that there wasn't enough life...
My interest for photography started in 2004.
I bought a little Olympus 5 minutes before my first show: Atreyu, at the Metropolis in Montreal. Who'd knew I would work frequently at that same venue, shoot many of my favorite artists, including Atreyu at the Heavy MTL in 2010. With that camera, I made my first Self Portrait ever.
In high school, I've been told to give up the path I chose: Photography. They said there is no future in that field. I believed them. So I did.
But it

Also, for the latest info and art you can now subscribe to my Facebook account :facebook: ( http://www.facebook.com/andree.wallin ). As much as I hate to promote FB it's a lot easier for me to interact whenever I post stuff
So yeah, hope everyone's had an awesome holiday and thanks again for the wonderful feedback on my latest deviations :)
i used to try and get cover work at zenescope. in fact the first time i got one, i did it all in photoshop and worked it to death....
well, about a week later i was asked to color the same cover by a different artist. ouch yeah? i was so totally bad ass and better than mine though, of that there was no doubt. so i did it, and it remained one of my favorite covers id painted digitally for a very long time.
now, for long while after that i would do something sketchy and fix it in photoshop. i never paid much attention to my lines, because i could just fix it up in photoshop, be it line quality or anatomy.
then i decided to start paying atten

A guy on millarworl.tv forums asked me to answer some interview questions for what I think is a school project... Here're my answers
1. What is your process when coloring a page?
Convert the lineart to a channel to give it its own layer and a transparent background. Then do the flat colours to divide everything up. Some people do this all on one layer but I like to break the picture up into a series of layers for each of the major components of the picture. Then I usually do the background first as that helps set the scene, colour scheme, lighting, and overall feeling of the picture. Then it's a matter of doing all the rest!

Fast and easy way to create a reference sheet...
Just the other day, I discovered a super quick and easy way to create reference sheets for digital painting. So, instead of having a ton of documents open all at once, slowing down your Photoshop, or spending a half hour to create your own sheet, you can use Picasa to create one for you in just seconds.
Below is a video I made to show you how. There are some other tips in there as well, so take a look if you're interested!
Take care!
a moment to talk about art and copying styles by WhiteHowler7, journal
a moment to talk about art and copying styles
well maybe i'll sound elitest, but ive always been a fan of the idea; draw how you draw, dont look too closely at others work and dont worry too much about finding your "style". it comes on its own but if you're looking at others work too closely to learn you're only learning somebody elses path in the road of art and not your own :D
I did look at others work to get inspired as i started out, but mostly i looked at photographs while i worked, not art. i was given a bit of advice like 8 years ago, and ive always held it pretty high up on things to remember, and i share it often.
when you're learning how to draw/paint, you should look at LIFE
